Somewhat paternal: Have I Got Social Enterprise News For You

Cartoon of son standing on sleeping dad. The son says, "Wake up, Dad! It's time to fearlessly face the day!"Hello. It’s me. Good to see you again. Things have changed slightly since the last Have I Got Social Enterprise News For You – I now have a son (Harry), which according to some means that I finally have to act like a grown up. What does this consist of? Changing nappies, listening to crying and sleeping less apparently. All good fun though.

Lots of news this week – if you sent something to me and it hasn’t been included it isn’t deliberate, I just haven’t caught up with all my emails yet. Enjoy your weekend – I’m off to France on Monday to watch England continue their path to European glory!

Too many cooks, spoiling the broth: Have I Got Social Enterprise News For You

Do you remember what it was like before the internet, when people didn’t eat? Cast your mind back to the days when people wandered the streets forlornly holding a potato, unsure of what it was and what they were supposed to do with it. This week we almost returned to those primitive times as the BBC threatened to remove all of its recipes from the World Wide Web.  No more quinoa goji tabbouleh or poached peaches with zabaglione for you.

While the threat has passed for now, I thought wise to begin building an archive elsewhere, beginning with one of my own creations: Short Crust Social Enterprise Pie.

Bon appetit!

All For One: Have I Got Social Enterprise News For You

old-40092_640

Friday already? That came around quickly. Far too quickly for me to think of anything particularly interesting to write I’m afraid. I made a lazy attempt to seem relevant in the subject line and that was as far as I got. I don’t even have any weekend plans that I can tell you about. How dull. So we’d better just crack on and get on with the news…

Enjoy your weekend

Yes We Can! Yes We Can! Have I Got Social Enterprise News For You

elections-536656_640

Sadly this year I was ineligible to run for Mayor of London because a) I didn’t go to Eton and b) I’m not the son of a London bus driver so my application was rejected. I also don’t own a dead cat and I think you need one of those too, from what I’ve been reading in the papers (I haven’t been paying a huge deal of attention). Hopefully rules will have changed by 2020 so I thought that now was a good opportunity to set out my manifesto.

Have a super weekend (sunshine, finally!!).
