5 reasons to attend our Transition to Trading course

It’s less than a month until our six-day Transition to Trading course begins. If you haven’t confirmed your place yet, here are five reasons that we think that you should book your place on the course:

1. You will learn how to become less dependent on grants and earn new sustainable income for your organisation.

We will work with you to ensure that you understand the key issues and concepts in developing new income streams for your organisation (such as strategy, sales, pricing, marketing, customer analysis, demonstrating impact).  You’ll learn how you can start earning an income by selling your organisation’s services or products.

2. You will hear relevant case studies from expert practitioners from across the third sector.

We have carefully chosen a line-up of speakers that best illustrate how to make the transition to trading successfully. This year’s speakers include Georgie Fienberg (founder of Afrikids), Alana Cookman (Head of Cafes, Crisis), Tom Ravenscroft (founder, Enabling Enterprise), Fran Findlater (CEO, Bounce Back Foundation) and John Brown (Founder, John Brown Media).

3. You will form a strong network with other participants.

The course offers a great opportunity for peer learning and for collaboration with other organisations. Bookings so far have included Worcestershire Council, Salvation Army, YMCA and National Citizen Service.

4. You will feel more confident about your own leadership role.

Making the transition to traded income can be difficult. The course will ensure that you are well equipped to tackle the organisational challenges that you and your team are likely to face.

5.  You’ll have a lot of fun!

Courses at the SSE are designed to be enjoyable as well as being full of practical, relevant learning that you can apply to your organisation. We work hard to make sure that each participant goes home with a smile on their face!

Price: £750 (£700 for SSE students and Fellows).
