My days were usually spent sharing stories and pictures about whether bulbs were early or how late into the autumn my geraniums were still flowering. Today I am a social entrepreneur and Founder of Climate Gardens, an online environmental enterprise that uses the effect of unpredictable weather on our plants and gardens to raise the issue of climate change. Last night saw the second of the School for Social Entrepreneurs “Question Time” events hosted by David Floyd of “Social Spider”. The event was supported by a panel with a range of experience and perspectives on social enterprise: Nick Temple, Director of Business at Social Enterprise UK, Professor Fergus Lyon, Professor of Enterprise and Organisations at the Third Sector Research Centre, Neil Fenton. On Monday I was at the Social Economy Alliance fringe event at the Labour conference, our students were in for the last block of this year’s Start Up course this week and yesterday I was at the launch of the ICSF’s ‘Realising the Potential of Social Replication’ report.
