Socially Trading Organisations Maturing Markets Trade Up Programme

Overview

This is an exciting new programme which will support socially trading organisations from the Liverpool City Region area who are looking to develop the skills, strengths and networks required to grow purpose-led enterprises and in turn increase their income and impact.

What’s involved

We’ll give you a fully funded 9-month learning programme designed to help you grow your organisation’s impact and income.  We’ll support you to build sustainability and resilience, increase customers and earn more income. The course will consist of:

  • 8 days of focused study (a combination of in-person and online)
  • 4 action learning sessions(find out more about action learning here)
  • Business Development Action Clinics
  • Opportunities to build supportive peer networks
  • The chance to pitch for social investment

What you’ll learn from this course

Programme content will be tailored to meet the needs of the group but is likely to include:

  • Leading with confidence
  • Costing and pricing
  • Sales and marketing
  • Environmental and social impact
  • Personal resilience and wellbeing
  • Income generation and accessing finance
  • Procurement and contract readiness

You’ll be in a group of around 20 other people at a similar stage to you, from all backgrounds. You’ll form an ‘action learning set‘ that helps you reflect and develop in a trusted circle. Here’s a video that explains action learning.

Our learning programmes are very different to traditional teaching. We’re not about essays and academia. We believe in learning from other people’s stories. You’ll hear from inspiring social entrepreneurs who speak frankly about the good, the bad and the ugly of running an organisation.

We’ll also introduce you to experts to help you develop new skills. You’ll build a network of peers and professionals who can support you.
