Cemal Ezel, Change Please
Cemal Ezel was our Lloyds Bank Social Entrepreneur of the Year 2017.
He’s the founder of Change Please, a social enterprise that uses coffee as a way out of homelessness. It trains homeless people to become baristas and provides a London-living wage job, housing and bank account and therapy support to its beneficiaries. He’s also the founder of Old Spike Roastery, a social enterprise coffee roastery in south London that supports homeless people, and Spike + Earl, a social-enterprise restaurant in London.
Cemal learnt with us on the Lloyds Bank Social Entrepreneurs Start Up Programme, then went on to the Scale Up level. This programme is run by the School for Social Entrepreneurs and jointly funded by the National Lottery Community Fund.
