Shifting London Free Workshops for starting a social enterprise

The Shifting London Free Workshops support people in London to develop the key skills required to start up and grow a social enterprise or business for good. Participants will be equipped to continue to explore and capture opportunities within the local and social economy.

Who is it for?

The Shifting London Workshops are for people based in London who are either:

  • in the early stages of starting a social enterprise, charity, social or environmental impact project.
  • or growing an established social enterprise, charity, social or environmental impact project.

Any number of workshops can be attended. No application or assessment process is necessary but you must be based in London. Just fill out the form and choose which workshops you want to attend.

What is a social enterprise?

3rd June – 16:30-18:00

An introduction into the world of social enterprise. Explore community-led challenges and get a foundation for how to tackle needs through social enterprise.


What change do you want to see in the world and why?

4th June  – 16:30-18:00
Explore the WHY behind organisations that are trying to change the
world. Understand how to establish your vision, the change you want to
make and the steps needed to make this happen.


Beneficiaries, customers and measuring your impact

5th June – 16:30-18:00
Establish who is going to benefit from your project, who will pay for its
services and the needs of these people. Learn how to measure and prove
the project’s success.


Building your social brand

6th June – 16:30-18:00
An introduction to what an organisation’s brand is all about. Learn how
to develop the brand and connect it to your social mission.

Shifting London is funded by the UK government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund. The Fund is a central pillar of the UK government’s Levelling Up agenda and provides £2.6 billion of funding for local investment by March 2025. The Fund aims to improve pride in place and increase life chances across the UK investing in communities and place, supporting local business, and people and skills.
