Dr Chris Handy OBE, CEO, Accord Housing

Chris has been Chief Executive of Accord and its precursors for over 20 years, previously working in other housing organisations and local government. Chris is on the Black Country Local Enterprise Partnership Board and leads on enterprise and the green growth agendas for the region.

Jan Golding, CEO, Roots HR

Jan is a fully qualified and highly experienced senior Human Resources professional with a career in people management in the service industries spanning over 25 years. Inspired by Social Enterprise Week 2008, she founded Roots Human Resources CIC in January ’09 with the aim of growing an ethical company to fill the gap in HR service provision to small and medium-sized civil society organisations.

Kevin Davis, CEO, The Vine Trust

Kevin Davis is Chief Executive Officer of The Vine Trust Group, a pioneering third sector organisation based in Walsall that `prepares young people for life. Kevin serves his local community as a Third Sector champion with particular success in the development of CSR and faith inspired organisations.

Amy Barbor, Network Manager, SSE Central

Amy is the Network Manager for SSE Central, helping to manage the social franchise relationship. Amy is an experienced Action Learning Facilitator and also supports delivery of programmes and Action Learning for the London and other network schools.

Amy is a fellow of SSE, having run her own social enterprise, Living Lens for 10 years.  Living Lens delivered creative projects, primarily video for women and girls.

Mark Rogers, (Chair of SSE Midlands Board)

Mark is passionate about social change and the potential for social enterprise to contribute to lasting positive change in local communities. Mark was the CEO of Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council, CEO of Birmingham City Council, President of the Society of Local Authority Chief Executives and Senior Managers (SOLACE) and so takes a wider view across the region.

Nick Venning, Consultant

Nick was Head of Marketing at PwC and now runs his own consultancy business. Nick is very active in community affairs and has been involved with many charities and voluntary sector organisations including St Basils, Birmingham Civic Society, Birmingham & Black Country Community Foundation, Bromsgrove School and The Prince’s Trust. Nick was a founder of Thrive, Birmingham’s CSR network.

Phil Mayhew, ConsultantDirector of Business Transformation, Solihull MBC

Phil was Director of Business Transformation at Solihull Council and is an expert in ‘LEAN’ working. He now runs a consultancy business iMPROV, working with the public sector on lean working and other areas. Phil is an enthusiastic supporter of social enterprise and how it can bring about transformational change.
