SSE Fellows shortlisted for TalkTalk Digital Heroes Awards

17 Aug 2015

We are delighted to announce that 3 SSE Fellows are nominated in this year’s Digital Heroes Awards. All are in with the chance of winning £10,000 and the title of TalkTalk Digital Hero 2015.

There are 49 people in the running to receive the top prize of £10,000 and we’d love to see a social enterprise win! The projects are all having a big digital impact in their areas so make sure you get behind them by voting for your favourite at talktalkdigitalheroes.co.uk.

Once decided by public vote TalkTalk Digital Heroes winners will be invited to attend a ceremony at the House of Commons later this year where they will be crowned a TalkTalk Digital Hero and receive £5,000 of funding to enhance their digital project.

At the heart of these projects are inspirational individuals who are bringing people together, offering support to those around them and giving them the tools that make all of our lives a little easier including our three fellows: Julia and Excite-ed, Ugo and Re-Start and Naomi and SkyBadger.

TalkTalk has 10 Digital Heroes Award categories, and one overall winner who will be announced at the ceremony and granted £10,000. The Digital Heroes are decided by public vote with the overall winner chosen by an expert-judging panel comprising of TalkTalk chairman Sir Charles Dunstone, Lastminute.com founder Baroness Martha Lane-Fox and Daily and Sunday Mirror Editor-in-Chief Lloyd Embley.
