Join us on Tuesday 2nd May 2017 for safeguarding training designed to meet the needs of people and organisations working with children and vulnerable adults. Our course will be delivered by Richard McKie, a highly qualified provider of child protection and safeguarding training.

THE NEEDS OF CHILDREN AND VULNERABLE ADULTS ARE HUGELY DIVERSE. HOWEVER, ALL AGENCIES AND PROFESSIONALS NEED TO WORK TOGETHER TO FULLY UNDERSTAND AND ADDRESS HOW THOSE NEEDS ARE BEST MET.

Course Aims:

• To provide awareness about the different types of abuse and related signs and symptoms

• To provide details of current legislation and sources of support

• To provide an understanding of the roles and responsibilities in relation to safeguarding.

Delivered by Richard McKie, this course will help practitioners to better support children and vulnerable adults – taking on board their perception of events, understanding their wishes and feelings and encouraging them to participate in the processes that may surround them.

The content will follow approved guidance, referencing the Prevent strategy and signposting to appropriate learning resources and other organisations.

Course tutor Richard McKie is a trained teacher and qualified youth worker with over 35 years’ experience. He is also a former OFSTED inspector and a former member of the Cornwall and IoS Safeguarding Board.
