As-salamu alaykum. I’ve returned from a very relaxing week in Morocco (I heartily recommend Les Jardin des Douars in Essaouira if you want a very good place to go to with young children) and I’m back to the grindstone. I’m still miles behind on my emails, so if you sent something to be included and it isn’t here, apologies and I’ll try to include it next week.
I’m out and about over the next seven days at the Hertfordshire Social Enterprise Fair on Monday and then at Marmalade in Oxford on Friday. If you’re at either, come and say hi.
Enjoy your weekend
A bit of a rush job this week. I’m off to Morocco tomorrow, so need to allocate the bulk of today to more important matters: thinking of a witty out of office message to stick on my email and then doing my online check-in. If anyone has any useful suggestions for how to keep a nine month old baby entertained during a 3 hour flight they would be gratefully received, apparently industrial strength tranquilisers are frowned upon…
No HIGSENFY next week, see you in couple of weeks.
When people unsubscribe from this newsletter (it does happen) they occasionally leave a little note explaining why which then gets sent to my inbox. “Total drivel, what a waste of bandwidth“, for example. “Irrelevant prattle” comments another. “I do not like the tone and style of these emails. It is not sensible but over-enthusiastic and rather adolescent.” All perfectly reasonable. If anything, describing this as adolescent, irrelevant prattle is better feedback than I’d expect.
But one comment puzzled me. “Too much news” complained one former reader. Too much news in a newsletter. Hmmm. Isn’t that a bit like saying that there is too much pay in a pay check, or too much beer in a beer garden? Anyway, it’s a good thing that they no longer subscribe because there’s an absolute shed load of stuff this week.
Enjoy your weekend
